Despite helping patients who sought rehabilitative services, she realized that she loved music so much that she decided to venture into it.

After her breakthrough in music, she released more songs and music albums, releasing her debut single in 1996, Strawberry Wine. Her other songs include Absence of the Heart, the lead song on her Everything’s Gonna Be Alright album, and There’s No Limit.

Gray Hayes Hicky’s mother decided to form her record label in 2013 called Little Nugget Records, and in the same year, she released a seventh album titled Southern Way of Life.
